ANDY ALEDORT has been a major player in the New York blues and rock scene over the last 25 years. Associate Editor of Guitar World magazine and contributor to many other publications, Aledort has performed, jammed, and recorded with such artists as Dickey Betts, the Allman Brothers Band, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Joe Perry, Los Lobos, Jimi Hendrix's legendary Band of Gypsys, and Double Trouble (with whom he also appears on two Hot Licks instructional videos). His many instructional publications include the Hal Leonard Signature Licks books Eric Clapton-The Bluesman, Jimi Hendrix, and Blues/Rock Guitar Masters, as well as the videos and DVDs How to Play the Songs from Are You Experienced? and Beginning Electric Blues Guitar. His own group, Andy Aledort and the Groove Kings, released the CD Put a Sock in It in 1999 to rave reviews, and is currently recording their second studio album.
