Tra gli spettatori c'era anche John Hammond; colpito a tal punto da proporre subito un contratto per la CBS; che SRV sfrutterà nel medesimo anno, registrando assieme al suo gruppo i Double Trouble, il primo disco; "Texas Flood". Passo per passo le parti salienti del suo stile estratte da vari album. Dalle prime canzoni in cui era forte l'influenza di Hendrix, alle ultime come "riviera paradise" ove SRV si allontana dalla musica rock per seguire un percorso quasi Jazzistico. Nel libro interessanti riferimenti sull'equipaggiamento, le accordature, gli amplificatori, gli effetti, le gradazioni delle corde. Il CD della durata gli oltre 58 minuti vi seguirà scandendo la chitarra ritmica da quella solista.
